Actor Hyun Bin and actress Son Ye-jin have started the New Year by making a generous donation to support children in need.
On January 6, Hyun Bin's agency, VAST Entertainment, announced that the couple donated a total of 300 million won (approximately 210,000 dollars).
They each donated 150 million won to the Pediatric and Obstetrics departments at Asan Medical Center and Samsung Medical Center.
The couple shared, "We're deeply grateful to be in a position to help others and wanted to share a small part of our hearts."
They added, "Every time we see our child growing up healthy, we can't help but think about children who aren't as fortunate, and it fills us with an indescribable sense of guilt. We hope these children can recover their bright, happy selves and grow up healthy to bring light to the world."
The donation to Asan Medical Center will go toward providing treatment for patients in challenging circumstances, while the funds given to Samsung Medical Center will be used to support pediatric and obstetrics programs.

In fact, this is not the first time the couple has donated. Last January, they made a contribution to support pediatric patients and single-mother families.
Son Ye-jin's agency, MSteam Entertainment, previously shared, "At the end of last year, Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin donated 150 million won in their names to Asan Medical Center and the Baby Box program run by Jusarang Community Church.
Son Ye-jin commented at the time, "With so many people struggling, we hoped this donation could be a warm Christmas gift for children in desperate need of help."
This beautiful couple's consistent support for those in need, shown through their ongoing acts of kindness, continues to touch the hearts of many.
