Cold air moving in from the northwest has prompted cold wave advisories across various parts of the country.

Early winter chill is set to arrive tomorrow (Nov. 7), which marks Ipdong, the beginning of winter on the lunar-based solar calendar.

Morning temperatures in Seoul will drop to -1°C (30°F), and strong winds will make the perceived temperature plunge to around -4°C (25°F).

You will need to bundle up in warm winter coats to stay warm.

While the cold weather is expected to persist through the weekend, rain is forecasted for the central regions on Sunday.

The rainfall amount will be small at around 5 mm, but some snow could accumulate in the higher mountainous areas of Gangwon Province.

Strong winds will continue nationwide until tomorrow morning, and the atmosphere in the Gangwon Yeongdong region will be very dry, calling for caution against fires.

Tomorrow morning's low will drop to 1°C (34°F) in Daegu, and daytime highs will reach 9°C (48°F) in Seoul, keeping it cold all day.

This cold snap is expected to continue until early next week.
