Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Lee Hyung-il visited the site of the Korea Grand Festival, a large-scale domestic shopping event, to encourage the recovery of domestic consumption.

Today (November 6), Deputy Prime Minister Lee visited Happy Department Store in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul—established to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners—to inspect the "Happy Inventory Discount Fair" and encourage participating SMEs and merchants.

"Our economy is laying the groundwork for recovery driven by recent improvements in exports and investment," Lee emphasized. "Most importantly, it is crucial that the warmth of this growth permeates deeply into every corner of alleyway commercial districts and the livelihoods of our neighbors."

He added, "I hope that economical consumption, which can serve as a robust boost for SMEs and small business owners like the discount fair at Happy Department Store, will spread nationwide."

He further urged citizens, saying, "Every single valuable step and purchase made by the public is the greatest driving force behind revitalizing South Korea's economy. Please visit nearby Korea Grand Festival event venues located across the country."

Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups Lee Byung-kwon, who accompanied him to the site, stated, "We will do our best to make this a consumption festival for everyone that brings practical shopping joy to citizens, sales delight to merchants, and vitality to local communities."

Now in its second year, the Korea Grand Festival is being held for 18 days from October 29 to November 15.
