A man in his 60s has been arrested by police after threatening medical staff with a weapon at a hospital, complaining that his headache had not been cured, and acting disorderly toward responding police officers.
The Gapyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced today (November 6) that it has apprehended and is investigating a man in his 60s, identified as A, on charges including special intimidation and special obstruction of official duties.
A is suspected of using abusive language and threatening a doctor and a nurse with a weapon at around 11:00 a.m. yesterday at a clinic in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong-gun.
A is also accused of threatening responding police officers, who arrived following a report from a hospital employee, by saying, "I have a weapon, so come at me," and damaging a patrol car by throwing a helmet at it.
According to reports, A demanded pain medication, claiming his symptoms had worsened despite receiving treatment at the clinic.
It was also found that A drove a motorcycle to the hospital while intoxicated and without a driver's license.
His blood alcohol concentration at the time was at a level warranting the revocation of his driver's license.
Police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A later today.
