The Korea Professional Football League (K League) has held a disciplinary committee meeting regarding the recent assault case within the K League 2 club Jeonnam Dragons, but failed to reach a conclusion.
The K League announced that during its 8th disciplinary committee meeting held today (November 5), the incident involving player-on-player assault within the Jeonnam squad was addressed, but no decision was made, and the deliberations will be continued at a later date.
The K League explained, "This is to provide both players with the opportunity to submit additional materials and to ensure that the parties involved are guaranteed a sufficient opportunity to make statements."
The next deliberation session is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. on November 17.
Previously, the Jeonnam club posted an apology on its social media on October 22, stating, "Recently, there were disgraceful incidents within the squad involving drinking by some players and harassment between players."
The club stated, "After ascertaining the facts, we immediately expelled the individuals involved as part of a stern, zero-tolerance approach."
It was reported that Player A, who was expelled, repeatedly harassed junior players and recently committed an act of violence after drinking.
Upon receiving a report from the victim, the Jeonnam club terminated its contract with Player A on October 19.
The K League requested a fact-checking report from the Jeonnam club on October 20 and decided to convene the disciplinary committee.
