The film "Final Interview" has held onto the No. 1 spot in ticket reservations on its opening day, signaling a green light for a No. 1 debut at the box office.

According to ticket reservation tallies by the Korean Film Council on November 4, "Final Interview" ranked No. 1 in both categories with a 16.3% reservation rate and 34,917 tickets sold in advance. While it shared the exact same reservation rate with the second-place film, "Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island," it edged ahead by 112 tickets in advance sales.

By taking the No. 1 spot in both reservation rate and pre-sold tickets in its opening week, the new release "Final Interview" is threatening "Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island," which has held onto the top spot at the box office for four consecutive weeks.

Kim Jaewon, one of the leads of "Final Interview," acknowledged the competition during an interview on November 3, saying, "I hope the film does well. I especially really want to beat 'Chiikawa'."

"Chiikawa" is a character that has secured a solid fan base in South Korea. Powered by its strong intellectual property, "Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island" has demonstrated staying power, drawing 2.6 million moviegoers domestically.

Starring six rising stars in the lead roles, "Final Interview" opens in theaters nationwide today (November 4) as it aims for a No. 1 box office debut.
