The film "HOPE" set a new opening-day record for Korean film releases this year on its first day of release in France.

According to investor and distributor Plus M Entertainment, "HOPE" opened across 192 screens throughout France and recorded an opening revenue of approximately $800,000. In particular, on the opening weekend on Saturday, October 31, it demonstrated strong performance by ranking second at the box office in Paris, a key market accounting for 31% of France's total box office revenue.

The enthusiasm for "HOPE" also carried over to Belgium. Opening across 38 screens in Belgium, "HOPE" recorded an opening revenue of approximately $64,000, achieving a performance that significantly surpassed the opening results of "Decision to Leave" and "Burning." Following France, it signaled an impressive start in Belgium as well, greenlighting box office success in the European market.

"HOPE" begins as Beom-seok, the head of the Hopo Port branch office located in the demilitarized zone, hears news from local youths that a tiger has appeared, and as the entire village goes on high alert, he comes face to face with an unbelievable reality. The film is directed by Na Hong-jin and stars Hwang Jung-min, Zo In-sung, and Jung Hoyeon.

Released domestically in July, "HOPE" drew 4.6 million moviegoers nationwide, and following its North American run, it has now opened in the European market to meet international audiences.
