According to the Korea Exchange, the KOSPI finished trading down 210.29 points, or 3.59%, at 5,648.79 compared to the previous trading day.
The index opened at 5,715.19, down 143.89 points (2.46%) from the previous session, and widened its losses in the afternoon, sliding at one point by 4.15% to 5,615.80.
The KOSDAQ index closed down 29.97 points (4.08%) at 704.39 compared to the previous session.
