Actor Jinyoung is returning to the silver screen with the film "Fighter."
On the morning of the 3rd, Management Run announced, "Actor Jinyoung, represented by our agency, is preparing to meet audiences through the intense combat action film 'Fighter.' You can look forward to Jinyoung's desperate and deepened narrative as he protects his family with his bare fists, as well as an intense side of Jinyoung that he has not shown before."
"Fighter" is a youth crime action film that follows Hye-sung (Jinyoung), an unknown mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter dreaming of entering the UFC, who takes on a dangerous job with his best friend Wondo (Minho) and gets caught up in an incident surrounding a cold wallet containing cryptocurrency worth 60 billion won.
In the film, Hye-sung is a character who refuses to give up his dream of making it to the UFC despite his difficult reality. He continues to make a living to cover his younger sibling's hospital bills and debts while relentlessly training and standing up against massive threats to protect those around him.
Through this project, Jinyoung is taking on an acting transformation with full-scale MMA action. To deliver vivid action reminiscent of actual combat, he began training long before the cameras started rolling. The desperation of youth and the emotions of Hye-sung striving to protect his loved ones, combined with the action, are highlighted as key points to watch in the film.
Having completed characters in his own unique color across romance, comedy, and genre works, Jinyoung's casting news has drawn attention. "Fighter" cranked in on the 28th and aims for a release in 2027.
