A South Korean man in his 20s, who has been arrested multiple times for sex crimes against minors in Japan, has been arrested once again on charges of sexually assaulting a female middle school student.

Japan's Mainichi Broadcasting System and other media reported that the Hyogo Prefectural Police arrested a 25-year-old South Korean national, identified as A, on charges including sexual assault.

A is accused of sending messages to a first-year middle school girl he met via social media in April, asking to meet up, taking her to his then-residence in Osaka, sexually assaulting her, and recording the act with his smartphone.

Local police are investigating the specific circumstances of the case, believing that A contacted the victim via social media and proceeded to meet her in person.

According to the investigation, A already had a record of being arrested four times previously on charges including sexual assault against girls aged 9 to 14.

It was reported that A also used social media to commit crimes in the previous cases.

Believing that there may be additional victims aside from this case, local police are analyzing A's mobile phone and related materials while continuing their investigation into any further potential crimes.

A is reportedly refusing to make statements during the police interrogation.
