Singer Sim Soo-bong has once again bowed her head and apologized for using inappropriate language toward junior singer Kim Da-hyun at a regional event.
Her agency, SB Planning, stated that during her national tour concert held at Baegun Art Hall in Wonju, Gangwon Province, on October 31, Sim apologized by saying that it all stemmed from her own shortcomings and inadequacy, and that they were words she should never have uttered.
Sim lowered her head, saying, "I have spent the time in self-reflection and repentance, and I will continue to live with that attitude moving forward."
Sim previously sparked controversy in September at a regional trot festival when she remarked to Kim Da-hyun, who had taken the stage before her, that she seemed like a young lady who did not yet know what music or life was all about.
As criticism mounted over her inappropriate remarks, she issued an official apology, stating, "It was, literally, a slip of the tongue."
The Wonju concert on October 31 marked Sim's first official appearance since the slip-of-the-tongue controversy, during which she once again publicly apologized in front of the audience.
Addressing junior singer Kim Da-hyun, Sim said, "She must have had a very difficult time, but I hope she pulls her heart together and grows into a wonderful musician."
She also emphasized that, above all, she would cherish the deep love from the audience and fans who came to her concert despite the circumstances in her heart for a long time to come, before bowing her head once again.
