Ahead of its premiere, the Disney+ original series "The Remarried Empress" has released official stills from Episodes 1 to 4.
"The Remarried Empress" is an epic romance fantasy following Navier (played by Shin Mina), the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire. When her husband, Emperor Sovieshu (played by Ju Ji-hoon), falls for runaway slave Rashta (played by Lee Seyoung) and demands a divorce, Navier agrees on the condition that she be granted permission to remarry Prince Heinrey (played by Lee Jong-suk) of the Western Kingdom.
The stills from Episodes 1 to 4 released on November 2 capture the turbulent narrative of love and betrayal that unfolds right from the start. Holding Empress Navier's hand while his eyes are captivated by Rashta, Emperor Sovieshu signals that cracks have begun to form in the once-flawless imperial family.
In contrast, Prince Heinrey of the Western Kingdom makes a striking entrance amid the husband's betrayal, kneeling before Navier and offering her a blue rose, dramatically shifting the tone.
Affectionate moments between the imperial couple, Sovieshu and Navier, also draw attention by showcasing a relationship that was once more perfect than anyone else's. The rift appearing between the once-solid pair raises curiosity over the magnitude of the ripple effect it will send throughout the imperial court.
Anticipation is building around the intersecting desires of the four characters: Sovieshu, who broke his promise never to take a mistress and chose fleeting passion; Navier, who maintains her dignity despite the heartbreak; Heinrey, who pursues the empress without hesitation; and Rashta, who relishes her sudden turn of fortune.
