KT Wiz Manager Lee Kang-chul, who is set to face the Samsung Lions in the Korean Series (best-of-seven), said, "Samsung is a formidable team with balanced pitching and hitting. We will play our brand of baseball."
Through the club today (November 1), Manager Lee stated his determination for the Korean Series, saying, "Ahead of the Korean Series, we supplemented our shortcomings and raised our condition through internal training and practice games. With the pride of being the regular-season champions, we will deliver the joy of a combined championship to our fans."
Earlier today, Samsung defeated the KIA Tigers 6-1 in Game 5 of the playoffs (best-of-five) at Daegu Samsung Lions Park, advancing to the Korean Series with a series record of three wins and two losses.
Game 1 of the Korean Series between KT and Samsung will take place on November 3 at Suwon KT Wiz Park.
KT plans to wear King Jeongjo uniforms during the Korean Series.
The KT club explained, "To mark the 2026-2027 Suwon Visit Year and emphasize sharing the Korean Series held in Suwon with its citizens, we decided to wear the King Jeongjo uniforms, a symbol of Suwon, for all games."
This season, KT recorded 20 wins, 2 draws, and 3 losses with a winning percentage of 0.870 in 25 games while wearing the specially produced King Jeongjo uniforms.
The club aims to capture its second combined championship in franchise history by channeling the positive energy of the King Jeongjo uniforms.
Meanwhile, this will be the first time KT plays the Korean Series in its home city of Suwon.
In 2021, when the team claimed its first-ever championship, all Korean Series games were held at the indoor Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul as the tournament started in mid-November due to the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
