3 Vehicles Collide on Jungbu Inland Expressway in Seongju; 2 in Cardiac Arrest

At around 5:18 a.m. today (November 1), a three-vehicle collision occurred on the Jungbu Inland Expressway toward Yangpyeong, near the Seongju Rest Area in Chojun-myeon, Seongju-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The incident began when a 9-ton truck traveling in the second lane rear-ended a passenger car ahead. The impact sent the passenger car bouncing into the first lane, where it was subsequently struck by an SUV.

The accident left two people, the driver and a passenger of the car, in a state of cardiac arrest, and they were transported to a hospital.

Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
