President Lee Jae-myung celebrated the news today (November 1) that South Korea's exports this year have surpassed $900 billion for the first time in history, saying, "It feels like just yesterday that we celebrated $10 billion in exports, and I am deeply moved."
Writing on X (formerly Twitter) earlier in the day, President Lee offered words of encouragement, stating, "To our business leaders and workers on the production front lines, thank you so much for your hard work and dedication."
He added, "The government will make greater efforts to expand the economic territory for you to operate in through pragmatic diplomacy serving our national interest," urging, "Let all Korean people join together to plant and cultivate 'K' across the globe."
President Lee attached hashtags reading "Long live the great Korean people" and "Long live the great Republic of Korea" to the post.
According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, cumulative exports from January to October this year reached $930 billion, breaking through the $900 billion threshold for the first time in history.
If this trend continues, annual exports are projected to surpass $1 trillion during November.
