A male subway station worker has been arrested for allegedly wielding a weapon against a female colleague and inflicting serious injuries at Wondang Station on Seoul Subway Line 3 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
The Goyang branch of the Uijeongbu District Court held a pre-trial detention hearing (warrant review) today (the 30th) for a suspect identified as A, who faces charges of attempted murder.
The court issued the arrest warrant late in the afternoon, stating that the criminal charges have been established and there is a concern that the suspect may flee.
Suspect A is accused of attempting to murder a female station worker, identified as B, by attacking her with a weapon inside the station office at Wondang Station in Deokyang-gu, Goyang, at around 12:30 p.m. on the 28th.
Victim B suffered serious injuries to her face, neck, and abdomen, and was transported to a hospital where she underwent multiple emergency surgeries and is currently receiving treatment.
The two had been working together since January of this year, and reportedly experienced conflicts related to work.
