Kim Eun-ji 9P has claimed the inaugural championship title at the Shsuhyup Bank Women's Go Master Tournament.
Earlier today (the 30th), Kim secured a resignation (by resignation with black stones) win in 259 moves against Nakamura Sumire 6P in the third match of the best-of-five final series held at the Baduk TV Studio of the Korea Baduk Association.
With this victory, Kim completed a perfect sweep with a 3-0 record in the aggregate series.
Sumire, who was pushed to the brink after losing the first and second matches, utilized thickness in the center to maintain a slight lead well into the middle game.
However, Kim turned the tide by capitalizing on Sumire's mistake in a skirmish on the right side to capture the opponent's dragon group and decide the match.
Kim, who turned professional in 2020, has now lifted her 14th career championship trophy.
The Shsuhyup Bank Women's Go Master Tournament offers a prize of 100 million won for the champion, the largest among domestic women's tournaments, and 30 million won for the runner-up.
