Ahead of Halloween tomorrow (Oct. 31), police have deployed personnel to major bustling districts to prepare for massive crowds.
Kim Jong-chul, Acting Commissioner General of the Korean National Police Agency, is visiting Itaewon in Seoul today, while Minister of the Interior and Safety Yun Ho-jung is inspecting the Hongdae area to check crowd management conditions.
In addition, to prepare for potential terrorist attacks or random stabbing rampages within crowds, police special forces armored vehicles and other assets are being deployed.
This year's Halloween coincides with a Saturday for the first time since the Itaewon crowd crush in 2022, and a large number of people are expected to gather.
