An ambulance speeds down an eight-lane road, followed closely by two police cars.

At around 12:30 p.m. today, police and fire authorities received a report that a woman had been stabbed with a weapon at Wondang Station on Subway Line 3 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

[Witness: There was a crowd right over there. Police officers and firefighters. From what I heard, there was a dispute inside and a weapon was used... (The victim) was taken to the hospital, and another person was tied up and taken away by the police.]

It was confirmed that Mr. A, a male station worker employed at Wondang Station, wielded a weapon against a fellow female station worker inside the station office.

Mr. A, in his 30s, was subdued by other employees at the scene and arrested on the spot by dispatched police officers on charges of attempted murder.

[Station Official: Both of them are employees (at Wondang Station). We are also shocked by this.]

The 30-year-old female victim suffered severe injuries to her neck and legs and was transported to a hospital while unconscious, though she is reportedly still breathing.

The victim was Mr. A's supervisor. Police have ruled out the possibility that the two were in a romantic relationship or that stalking was involved, instead suspecting workplace conflict as the motive for the attack.

It has been confirmed that Mr. A is currently refusing to make any statements to the police.

A police official stated, "It appears that Mr. A brought the weapon used in the crime," adding, "We are investigating whether he regularly carried the weapon or recently acquired it specifically for the crime."

Police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A tomorrow.
