People Power Party Lawmaker Joo Jin-woo claimed that First Lady Kim Hye-kyung, the wife of President Lee Jae-myung, played golf with a famous professional golfer. Throughout the day yesterday (October 26), Cheong Wa Dae and rival parties engaged in intense back-and-forth clashes over the issue, which ultimately escalated into mutual legal complaints.

Yesterday morning, People Power Party Lawmaker Joo Jin-woo posted on social media that First Lady Kim Hye-kyung received a luxury "emperor lesson" from a professional golfer at Taereung Country Club, a military golf course, on October 20.
Cheong Wa Dae immediately refuted the claim as false.
A Cheong Wa Dae official stated in a telephone conversation with SBS that everything is incorrect, except for the fact that Kim played golf.
Lawmaker Joo insisted on publicly presenting a video at the parliamentary audit.
[Joo Jin-woo / People Power Party Lawmaker: First Lady Kim Hye-kyung, Lydia Ko, and one man—three people played golf together. If this is not "emperor golf," then what is it?]
[Seo Young-kyo / Chair, National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee (Democratic Party): Do not hide behind legislative immunity, and do it outside if you feel the need. The video will not be permitted.]
When blocked from screening the video at the parliamentary audit site, he immediately posted the footage on his YouTube channel.
The video, running about a minute and a half and including a scene of a woman receiving a so-called "field lesson," also featured a photo of the famous golfer Lydia Ko.
However, the ruling camp's rebuttal gained weight as Lydia Ko herself directly denied the allegations.
Lydia Ko stressed that she was carrying out other official schedules on that day and had no involvement whatsoever.
The Democratic Party announced that it would file a legal complaint against Lawmaker Joo, criticizing him for continuously spreading false information about the president's family and demanding that he "stop stalking."
[Kim Eui-kyeom / Democratic Party Lawmaker: Because this is an insult to Lydia Ko, First Lady Kim Hye-kyung, Cheong Wa Dae, and our state affairs as a whole, we will take strong legal action (in consultation with the party).]
However, Lawmaker Joo signaled a counter-response, saying he will uncover the truth through legal measures.
