It has been confirmed that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un made a surprise visit to China today (October 24).
Kim is reported to have entered China via the New Yalu River Bridge, which connects Dandong with Sinuiju in North Pyongan Province, North Korea.
A government official said, "Kim traveled to Dandong by crossing the New Yalu River Bridge aboard a private train."
Tomorrow marks the 76th anniversary of China sending reinforcements to aid North Korea during the Korean War, and Kim appears to have visited China on the occasion of commemorative events marking the milestone.
