Kim Je-deok (Yecheon County Office / Gyeongsangbuk-do), a member of the men's team gold medal squad at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, has captured his third consecutive individual title at the National Sports Festival.
Today (the 22nd), Kim defeated Kim Sun-woo (Kolon / Gyeonggi-do) with a set score of 6–0 in the men's general division individual gold medal match at the Deoksuri Playground in Anduk-myeon, Seogwipo, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, claiming the gold medal.
Kim, who holds three Olympic gold medals and secured a men's team gold and mixed team bronze at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games earlier this month, won his third straight individual gold medal at the National Sports Festival, following victories in 2024 and last year.
At this year's competition, Kim finished first in the 50-meter preliminary round to bag two gold medals—including the individual event—and added a silver medal in the 30-meter event.
The National Sports Festival archery competition also awards medals to first-place finishers in each preliminary distance.
In the final, held amidst strong winds of 5 to 7 meters per second, Kim shot 9, 8, and 9 in the first set to pull ahead of Kim Sun-woo, who recorded 10, 7, and 8.
In the second set, after opening with an 8, Kim hit back-to-back 10s to secure another win. In the third set, despite shooting two 7s, he edged out Kim Sun-woo by a single point with an X-ten to wrap up the match.
In the women's general division individual event, Hong Soo-nam (Incheon Metropolitan City Hall) defeated Lee Yoon-ji (Hyundai Mobis) with a set score of 6–4 to claim the championship.
In the compound men's general division individual event, Lee Eun-ho (Korea National Sport University / Seoul) took the title, while Oh Yoo-hyun (Jeonbuk Provincial Government) topped the podium in the women's general division individual event.
