Actor Jin Sun-kyu transforms into director Jang Hang-jun's doppelgänger on the SBS variety show "The Great Hang-jun."
In the second episode of SBS's "The Great Hang-jun," airing on Thursday, October 22 at 9:00 PM, guest Jin Sun-kyu is cast as the lead in Jang Hang-jun's blockbuster-scale(?) upcoming project "Hang-jun, Odyssey." "The Great Hang-jun" is a talk show centered on the concept of Jang Hang-jun holding auditions to cast top actors in his autobiographical film.
"Hang-jun, Odyssey" is a project that depicts the journey of Hang-jun venturing abroad on an adventure using chukjibeop (the art of contracting physical distance) until his return home. Jang Hang-jun flusters Jin Sun-kyu by revealing an unconventional plan: "I will shoot entirely on location overseas for 10 years," capturing everything in real time from boy Hang-jun to his aging years.
Nevertheless, driven by casting ambitions, Jin Sun-kyu puts on horn-rimmed glasses and sets out to clone Jang Hang-jun. From his appearance to his signature finger gestures, Jin Sun-kyu's 200% synchronized imitation leaves Song Eun-i in awe, commenting, "He is completely Jang Hang-jun's doppelgänger." Jin Sun-kyu also brought laughter by admitting himself, "It feels just like looking in a mirror."
Next came a battle of wits surrounding chukjibeop, the core element of the project. When Jang Hang-jun joked, "I honed it myself to avoid being late. My chukjibeop bends the ground," Jin Sun-kyu fired back, "My chukjibeop has a slickback feel. I can even walk on water," creating a lively atmosphere on set.
The second episode of "The Great Hang-jun," an audition talk show featuring engaging back-and-forth banter between master director Jang Hang-jun and top actors, airs today (October 22) at 9:00 PM.
