A rapper in his 40s who appeared on Mnet's "Show Me the Money," referred to as Mr. A, has been sent to trial on charges of purchasing and smoking marijuana.
The Suwon District Public Prosecutors Office announced on October 20 that it indicted Mr. A without detention on October 16 on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. Mr. A is accused of smoking marijuana multiple times in November of last year and August of this year. The prosecution believes that Mr. A purchased marijuana from a dealer in his 30s, Mr. B, in November of last year, and from another dealer in August of this year.
According to KBS, police searched the residence of the well-known rapper Mr. A in August, and during this process, marijuana and substances suspected to be liquid marijuana were found at his home. It was also reported that he tested positive for marijuana in a preliminary drug test.
The investigation began with the dealer, Mr. B. While investigating Mr. B, the joint government investigation team for drug crimes at the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office (now the Suwon District Public Prosecutors Office) confirmed that two individuals, including Mr. A, had purchased and used marijuana products, and arrested Mr. A in August, KBS reported.
Mr. B is accused of cultivating marijuana and manufacturing cannabis gummies at his home from August 2024 to June of this year. Mr. B reportedly made 8 million won in profit by selling approximately 105 grams of marijuana and 50 cannabis gummies, and Mr. A reportedly purchased marijuana and cannabis gummies from Mr. B at a club in Hongdae in November of last year. Mr. B was indicted under detention in July on charges of cultivating marijuana and manufacturing cannabis gummies at his residence.
