Actor Kang Ki-young and Kim Ji-woong of the group ZEROBASEONE have been cast as the leads in the film "Siren".
"Siren" is a buddy cop investigative drama about a feud-turned-partnership between a third-generation chaebol police university trainee who commutes in a supercar and a livelihood-driven ace detective who commutes by bicycle—a senior officer determined to kick him out and a trainee with absolutely no intention of leaving. Helmed by Director Oh Ki-hwan, who directed the film "The Art of Seduction" and the ENA drama "The Defects", the film tells the story of two completely different people confronting each other's worlds through a single case.
Kang Ki-young takes on the role of Si-woo, a livelihood-driven ace detective at Gangnam Police Station. A special-hire recruit who only had his sights set on a special promotion, Si-woo finds himself facing disciplinary action after an arrest operation goes awry when Do-yoon, a third-generation chaebol police university student, barges onto the crime scene. Having resolved never to cross paths again, the two reunite the very next day at Gangnam Police Station as mentor and trainee, and Si-woo receives an offer to make Do-yoon give up on becoming a police officer.
Kim Ji-woong plays Do-yoon, the youngest son of the Kangsung Group and a police university student dreaming of becoming a police officer. Do-yoon is someone who decided to become a cop following a past incident and is so passionate about the job that he mobilizes money and personal connections to get things done when obstacles arise. With Do-yoon having no intention of quitting on his own and Si-woo trying everything to drive him away, the two clash over every little thing, but ultimately become partners and embark on an unpredictable investigation together.
Having wrapped up all filming, "Siren" is currently stepping up post-production with the goal of releasing in 2027.
