China's ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), which is challenging the DRAM semiconductor industry dominated by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, has expressed confidence in the long-term development of the DRAM market and stated its will to pursue ultrafine manufacturing processes.
According to Chinese media outlet Star Market Daily, CXMT stated at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held yesterday (October 19) that "considering the current macroeconomic and industrial environment, we maintain full confidence in the long-term development of the DRAM industry."
As the DRAM market continues to expand due to the artificial intelligence (AI) boom, the company projected that the industry will grow at an average annual rate of over 38% through 2030.
CXMT further claimed that it has completed technological generational shifts from the first-generation to the fifth-generation processes, with its core technologies spanning from older mobile DRAM to the latest LPDDR6 already reaching advanced global standards.
Regarding future technological competitiveness, in particular, the company stated that it will break through technological limits through process innovation in the ultrafine memory manufacturing sector.
It emphasized that it has already adopted a quadruple self-aligned patterning process to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with leading companies in the fifth-generation process, significantly improving memory integration and component performance.
The company also stated that it plans to introduce next-generation server products by the end of the year.
Regarding its financial performance, backed by high operating rates at its plants in Hefei, Anhui Province, and Beijing, CXMT explained that its revenue from the first to the third quarter of this year surged by over 700% compared to the same period last year.
However, market concerns are growing as the margin of net income growth continues to decline compared to the previous quarter.
Following the earnings forecast, CXMT's stock plummeted 7.77% yesterday on its first trading day, falling below the 3 trillion yuan market capitalization mark.
