The day may come when robots, rather than humans, suppress protesters.
A humanoid robot recently unveiled in China is catching attention.
It is a bipedal robot shaped like a human.
It holds a shield in one hand and a riot baton in the other.
This is "Push," a humanoid robot developed by Norinco, a Chinese state-owned defense company.
It is capable of detecting movements to swing the baton or push opponents away with its shield.
In dangerous situations, humans can also operate it remotely.
During the development process, movements from China's armed police were reportedly collected and used to train the robot to mimic them.
However, it has not yet been officially deployed to actual protest sites and is still in the testing stage.
