Around 11:00 PM last night (October 19), an accident occurred near the Bukdaejeon Interchange on the Honam Expressway heading toward Daejeon, where a 2.5-ton truck struck a worker in his 30s and a 5-ton work vehicle that were conducting construction work.
According to police, construction was underway with the second lane and the shoulder of the one-way, two-lane road blocked off. The incident occurred when a dump truck traveling in the second lane shifted into the first lane, causing the following 2.5-ton truck to swerve to the right to avoid a collision, subsequently hitting a male signal worker in his 30s and the work vehicle.
As a result of the accident, the signalman in his 30s and the driver of the 2.5-ton truck sustained serious injuries and were transported to a hospital.
Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
