President Lee Jae-myung said in a post on social media today (October 18), "It is hard to understand why they are pressuring us not to make Cabinet meetings public, even going so far as to tell the lie that 'Cabinet members cannot speak because the meetings are open to the public.'"
President Lee explained, "I also deliberately increased the number of attendees significantly to broaden communication on state affairs and listen to diverse opinions," a remark seen as rebutting some criticisms pointing out the "side effects of broadcasting Cabinet meetings live."
