Women's professional volleyball team GS Caltex has advanced to the semifinals of the Yeosu NH Nonghyup Cup Pro-Volleyball Tournament after defeating Hyundai E&C.
In the Group B match of the tournament held today (October 16) at Jinnam Gymnasium in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, GS Caltex defeated Hyundai E&C with a set score of 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-22).
With a record of one win and one loss, GS Caltex secured the second-place spot in their group behind Korea Expressway Corporation (two wins) to grab a ticket to the semifinals.
Hyundai E&C (two losses) was eliminated from the tournament without winning a single set.
GS Caltex saw four players score in double digits, ranging from Gyselle Silva (17 points) to Tanacha Sooksod (13 points), Kwon Min-ji (11 points), and Choi Ga-eun (10 points).
GS Caltex, which set a goal for this season to distribute scoring that was previously heavily dependent on Silva, demonstrated that potential.
For Hyundai E&C, Mega put up a strong performance with 15 points and Jordan added 13 points, but it fell short.
