The Saudi-led coalition announced on the 15th (local time) that Yemen's Houthi rebels launched 20 attacks in October alone against King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, resulting in 17 deaths and 333 injuries.
Turki al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition and the Saudi Ministry of Defense, made the announcement during a press conference that day, adding, "The Houthi rebels have also attempted attacks targeting dozens of airports, oil facilities, and ports within Saudi Arabia."
The coalition added that attacks by the Houthi rebels on Abha Airport, located in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the Yemeni border, left 3 people dead and 28 injured.
Releasing a video capturing the situation at the time of the King Khalid International Airport attack, Spokesperson al-Maliki urged, "The Houthi rebels must immediately halt attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, including airports, ports, oil facilities, and infrastructure."
Spokesperson al-Maliki also claimed that regional forces assisted the Houthi rebels in carrying out these attacks against Saudi Arabia.
He added, "The terrorist group Houthi militia has acquired advanced technology with the help of regional powers," and "Backed by their support, the Houthis possess ballistic missiles, offensive and suicide drones, and explosive-laden speedboats."
However, he did not specify which particular country or group is supporting the Houthis.
