Master filmmakers sent messages for "The Great Hangjun."
On the October 15 broadcast of SBS's "The Great Hangjun," the project for Director Jang Hang-jun's next film officially kicked off.
During the broadcast, congratulatory messages arrived from fellow master directors to celebrate the project, drawing viewers' attention.
Director Bong Joon-ho praised him, saying, "He is someone who rightfully deserves to be called a master," while director Park Chan-wook remarked, "I'm jealous. How can he be so brilliant?"
Director Park Chan-wook further caught attention by saying, "I hope he keeps making films like 'The King's Warden,'" playfully adding, "Comedy is my territory, so I hope he doesn't make any of those."
Director Bong Joon-ho also spoke about Jang Hang-jun, who is the same age as him, sharing, "Even on phone calls, he goes, 'Ah, director, it's Master Jang Hang-jun.' We aren't casually addressing each other as 'Hang-jun-ah' and 'Joon-ho-ya' just yet, but that day will come soon. Love you."
After receiving messages from the two masters, director Jang Hang-jun joked, "I've been close with people like Joon-ho Bong and Cannes Park for a very long time. We've known each other since way back," and drew bursts of laughter by adding, "Cannes Park keeps asking to borrow money, and Joon-ho Bong keeps calling me asking what he should do for his next project."
