The Gwangju Bukbu Police Station announced today (October 15) that it has apprehended and is investigating a woman in her 50s, referred to as A, on charges of special intimidation for threatening a merchant with a weapon.
A is accused of threatening a 60s female store owner, referred to as B, with a weapon in front of an undergarment store in Gakhwa-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, at around 6:52 p.m. today.
No injuries were reported as B quickly closed and blocked the entrance upon seeing the weapon.
Police were dispatched following a report from a witness and arrested A at the scene.
Police are currently investigating the exact motive and circumstances of the incident, based on statements from A indicating that they had experienced conflicts over a monthly rent contract.
