North Korea's Missile General Bureau test-fired two types of submarine-launched strategic cruise missiles in the East Sea yesterday (October 14), the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
The KCNA stated that the test-launch "inspected the mobilization posture of underwater combat systems" and "contributed to honing the Navy's capability to carry out strategic missions."
It added that the launch also "contributed to demonstrating the high reliability, dependability, and capability of our war deterrence means."
At the same time, it claimed that the test-launch had no negative impact on the security of neighboring countries.
