The "Top 100 Ears" panel cheered on Kim Su-a's dream.
On the October 12 broadcast of SBS's "The Ballad of Us Season 2" (hereafter "The Ballad of Us 2"), 19-year-old Kim Su-a, who nurtured her dream at a youth shelter, took the stage.
On this day, tears were shed across the room as Kim Su-a performed Jaurim's "Over the Rainbow."
Kim Su-a, who shared that she lives in a youth shelter separated from her father due to difficult circumstances, was asked what was on her mind while singing. She replied, "I thought a bit about the past, and I sang while thinking of the cloud shapes floating in the sky and my friends at the shelter."
In response, Cha Tae-hyun said, "To be honest, before she sang, when Su-a was talking, she seemed awkward and timid, so I was worried. But I'm so grateful that she showed a completely different side from the very first line."
He added, "It made me realize that music has really been Su-a's best friend. Going forward, I hope she won't be discouraged and will sing with even more confidence."
Jung Jae-hyung also cheered on Kim Su-a's dream, saying, "Music is about sharing one's own story with someone, and that courage is remarkable. Thank you for sharing your story, which could have been a difficult one to tell." He continued, "Seeing you take steps forward one by one toward your dream makes me feel thankful and so proud as an adult."
Moon Geun-young expressed her sincere thoughts, saying, "Throughout the performance, I felt such a strong desire to ask, 'Su-a, how was your day? Will you tell me?' I will be looking forward to your next performance."
