Two days ago, a man in his 40s was emergency arrested on charges of beating his two-month-old daughter to death. It was also revealed that after the child died, he hastily deleted footage from the home cam installed in his home. He reportedly confessed that he struck her multiple times because she cried and refused to fall asleep.

Reporter Jeong Jiyeon has the details.

At dawn the day before yesterday (October 11), an emergency call to 119 was reported from an apartment in Osan, Gyeonggi Province, stating that "a child is not breathing."

The infant was rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest but died during treatment.

However, bruises were found on the face of the baby, who was only two months old. While investigating the parents, the police emergency arrested the father in his 40s, identified as A, on murder charges.

It was found that immediately after his daughter was pronounced dead, A used his smartphone to remotely delete a portion of the home cam video footage recorded at dawn that day.

During police questioning, A partially admitted to the crime.

He acknowledged that he "struck the baby's face multiple times," stating that he did so because "the child cried and would not go to sleep," according to investigators.

Meanwhile, police stated that there had been no prior reports of child abuse or domestic violence before this incident, and that the child's mother was sleeping in another room at the time and was unaware of the situation.

Police have requested an autopsy on the infant's body from the National Forensic Service to determine if there was any prior abuse.

They also plan to conduct a digital forensic investigation to recover the home cam footage deleted by A.

Having applied for an arrest warrant for A last night, the police plan to continue investigating the circumstances and other details of the crime.
