It has been revealed that Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) executives and employees who violated obligations related to asset registration and real estate acquisition restrictions all received the lightest level of discipline, a reprimand.
According to data submitted by LH to People Power Party Representative Kim Mi-ae of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee on October 11, a total of 382 disciplinary actions were taken against LH executives and employees from 2022 through August of this year.
Among them, 27 cases involved violations of the duty of faithful asset registration, and 2 cases involved violations of real estate acquisition restrictions and others.
By year, there was 1 case in 2023, 10 cases each in 2024 and 2025, and 8 cases up to August of this year, with the disciplinary level for all of them being a reprimand.
There were a total of 13 disciplinary cases related to the acceptance of money, valuables, or entertainment, resulting in 7 dismissals, 2 removals from office, 3 suspensions, and 1 pay cut.
Representative Kim pointed out that it is problematic that disciplinary actions have stopped at mere reprimands even though violations of asset registration and real estate acquisition restriction duties are repeatedly occurring at a public enterprise in charge of land and housing operations.
In addition, looking at the status of investigations into executives and employees from February 2022, based on the initial notification date, through August of this year, items listed as guilty verdicts and fines totaled 8 cases, with 4 cases forwarded to prosecutors, 1 case currently on trial, and 6 cases under investigation.
Representative Kim stated, "Although LH is a massive public enterprise responsible for public housing with an initial budget allocation exceeding 51 trillion won this year, all disciplinary actions for violations related to asset registration and real estate acquisition restrictions were reprimands," adding, "As real estate-related duty violations are repeated, we must inspect whether the violations and the levels of discipline were appropriate."
