The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and the Korea Rural Community Corporation announced on October 11 that they will operate a Farmland Complete Survey Consultation Center starting tomorrow (the 12th) to address farmers' questions and concerns regarding the complete survey of farmland.

The ministry explained that the consultation center will serve as a channel to guide follow-up action plans for the complete farmland survey and explain necessary support measures to prevent unfair disadvantages during the investigation process.

Key consultation topics include types of farmland speculation subject to disposition and whether specific cases constitute serious illegal conversion.

Types considered speculative acts include acquiring farmland falsely in land transaction permission zones and leaving it neglected or illegally leasing it; acquiring farmland shares through auctions followed by unauthorized fallow or illegal leasing; and agricultural corporations engaging in the real estate business using farmland.

For farmers who find it difficult to farm due to old age or other reasons, support programs such as the Korea Rural Community Corporation's farmland lease consignment, purchase of farmland for public lease, and farmland pensions will also be guided.

Consultations are available via the representative hotline (1811-8852), and there are plans to link agricultural organizations with the consultation center in the future to listen to difficulties in the field.
