Ozone advisories were issued for five cities in the southern region of Gyeonggi Province as of 4:00 PM today (October 10), according to the Korea Environment Corporation under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment.
The affected areas are Yongin, Pyeongtaek, Icheon, Anseong, and Yeoju.
The hourly average ozone concentration in the affected regions stood at 0.1224 ppm as of 4:00 PM.
Ozone advisories had previously been issued for 11 cities in the central region as well.
An ozone advisory is issued when the 1-hour average concentration of ozone in the air reaches 0.12 ppm or higher, while an ozone warning is issued at 0.30 ppm or higher, and a serious ozone warning at 0.50 ppm or higher, respectively.
