U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a large-scale supply of Russian diesel has been agreed upon for the United States and the rest of the world.
President Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social on the 9th local time, stating, "I just finished a very successful call with Russian President Vladimir Putin," and adding, "We agreed that Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel."
He also added, "Considering the situation of our domestic diesel refining facilities, an additional 3 million tons of diesel will be supplied in the short term."
President Trump further claimed that global diesel prices will drop rapidly as the United States controls the Strait of Hormuz and Russia makes this decision on diesel supply.
