▲ Accident on the Anseong Sejong-Pocheon Expressway
At around 5:40 p.m. today (October 9), a Genesis passenger car crashed into a 3.5-ton truck that had stalled and stopped near the Geumgwang Tunnel on the Sejong-Pocheon Expressway in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province.
The accident resulted in the death of the passenger car driver, a woman in her 50s identified by the surname A.
The crash occurred when A's vehicle struck the rear of the truck, which was stationary in the first lane due to a breakdown.
At the time, an excavator was loaded on the truck's cargo bed.
To handle the aftermath of the accident, the first and second lanes of the three-lane road heading in one direction were temporarily restricted.
Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident using CCTV footage and other evidence.
