Yeo Seo-jeong (24, Jecheon City Hall), the women's vault gold medalist at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, has claimed four gold medals at the National Sports Festival.
Competing in the women's general division apparatus finals at Halla Gymnasium in Jeju today (October 9) during the 107th National Sports Festival, Yeo won gold medals in the vault, balance beam, and floor exercise.
Having previously won the individual all-around with 52.966 points on October 7, Yeo added three more gold medals to achieve four titles at the competition.
She also secured a bronze medal in the uneven bars with 12.700 points, successfully winning medals in all five events she entered.
In her signature event, the vault, Yeo received 14.333 points for her first-attempt technique with a 5.4 difficulty rating and 13.433 points for her second-attempt technique with a 4.2 difficulty rating, claiming the top spot with a final score of 14.083.
She also placed first in the balance beam with 13.233 points and in the floor exercise with 13.000 points.
On September 24, Yeo won the women's vault at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, capturing her second career Asian Games gold medal eight years after the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games.
"It has been two years since I properly competed in the National Sports Festival," Yeo said. "The Jecheon City Hall team has been very patient with me, and I wanted to deliver good performances and results, so I am satisfied that I was able to do that at this competition."
She added, "Although I am physically quite exhausted, with my teammates by my side, I will maintain my focus until the end and finish the season well without injury."
Hwang Seohyun, the Asian Games women's balance beam gold medalist from Incheon Physical Education High School, scored 13.433 points to win the women's under-18 balance beam final, adding a gold medal to her individual all-around silver.
Lee Yun-seo (Gyeongbuk Provincial Office), who also competed in the Asian Games, won a gold medal in the women's general division uneven bars with 13.433 points and a bronze medal in the floor exercise with 12.567 points.
