Amid clear autumn weather, Mt. Mindung in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, a renowned spot for silver grass, has turned into a sea of silver. The eulalia waves reaching their peak are truly a magnificent sight.

Reporter Jo Jaegeun introduces the scene.

Beneath a cloudless blue autumn sky, the mountainside is entirely blanketed in silver grass blossoms.

In full bloom, the silver grass glistens under the midday sun, showing off its pristine white beauty.

The silver grass began blooming last month, covering a 66-hectare area centered around the mountain peak.

Swaying in the gentle autumn breeze, the blossoms create white waves resembling falling snow that ripple across the landscape.

Hikers make their way to the summit past silver grass taller than an adult, soaking in autumn with their entire bodies and capturing memories in photographs.

[Park Jun-hyuk / Gocheok-dong, Seoul: I heard people say it was pretty, but I didn't expect it to be this magnificent. With so much silver grass spreading out wide, I think it is definitely worth visiting at least once.]

Mt. Mindung became a bare mountain in the past due to slash-and-burn farming, after which silver grass spread, forming a colony starting from the upper slopes.

As the surrounding area is a limestone region, visitors can also see dolines, which are depressions formed by collapse. A round-trip hike of about four hours is more than enough to enjoy the scenery.

[Jin Sun-mi / Suwon, Gyeonggi Province: It was so exhausting coming up, but seeing this view from the top is so beautiful and the scenery is great. I am so glad I came. I have never seen so much silver grass before.]

Coinciding with the blooming period, 200,000 to 300,000 tourists visit Mt. Mindung every year, and the silver grass festival will continue until early next month as autumn draws to a close.
