Overnight, yields on the 10-year and 30-year U.S. Treasuries rose to 5.36% and 5.73%, respectively, marking their highest levels since 2002, before paring some of their gains.
In the domestic securities market, foreign investors net sold close to 2 trillion won worth of stocks on this day.
Despite the strong dollar and foreign stock selling, dollar-selling orders by semiconductor-focused exporters are believed to have supported the won.

The yen-dollar exchange rate fell 0.2 yen to 158.13 yen.
