Seo Jang-hoon, once celebrated as Korea's "national treasure center," is set to reveal his passionate basketball journey—ranging from behind-the-scenes stories of his 2002 Busan Asian Games gold medal to accurately predicting the 2026 national team's gold medal triumph.

On the upcoming episode of the SBS variety show "My Genie Secretary", airing Friday night on October 9, Seo Jang-hoon's untold stories will unfold as he appears as the featured "My Star."

During the shoot, Seo Jang-hoon gave an update on his life as an entertainer, bringing laughter to the set by quipping, "Little kids think I'm just a tall comedian," noting that younger generations often overlook his legendary athletic career. His past reputation as a "national treasure center" was then brought back to light, leading into the untold stories behind the legendary 2002 Busan Asian Games.

Back then, South Korea fought a grueling battle against China, led by 227-centimeter giant Yao Ming. Thanks to Seo Jang-hoon's dramatic three-pointer in overtime, Korea clinched the gold medal for the first time in 20 years. Watching archival footage of Seo shedding tears during an interview while crediting his teammates, host Lee Seo-jin also recalled the emotional moment, sharing, "It made me choke up too."

In particular, Seo had previously expressed confidence in the national team competing at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, declaring, "Right now is the golden generation," and predicting a gold medal. His prediction came true when the team indeed took home the gold, sparking admiration from everyone on set.

Additionally, Seo will reveal his unique approach to mental management, honed through his entertaining "extreme rage character" persona on variety shows. Explaining his personal "mental reset method," he said, "I immediately forget it and shake it off once it's over so it doesn't interfere with the next day's taping."

Seo Jang-hoon's gripping sports stories and personal charm will be unveiled on "My Genie Secretary," airing Friday, October 9, at 11:10 PM.
