Former LABOUM member YUJEONG (34) will tie the knot this December.
On October 8, YUJEONG personally shared the news of her marriage by posting a handwritten letter on her social media, writing, "This coming winter, I am getting married," and "I have met a wonderful partner with whom I have decided to spend the rest of my life, and we plan to move forward together."
Her agency, DCL ENT, also officially announced via a press release on the same day, "YUJEONG will hold a wedding ceremony with her partner of the same age on December 12 at a venue in Seoul." According to the agency, the groom-to-be is of the same age and works in the securities industry in Yeouido, and the two promised to marry after dating for about two years.
YUJEONG introduced her fiancé by saying, "He is someone who cherishes me like a daughter, even though I always thought I had lived bravely and well on my own, and someone who makes me feel every single day just how much I am loved." She added, "I have met a good, dependable person who brings me peace of mind whenever we are together." YUJEONG has been preparing for the wedding over the past year.
YUJEONG shared that words of support from fans saying, "I hope you now meet a good person and become even happier," had stayed in her heart for a long time. She said, "Thanks to that encouragement, I think I was able to gather the courage to begin a new page in my life," adding, "Just as you supported my new beginning five years ago, I would be deeply grateful if you could warmly support my new life this time as well." She continued, "I will also continue to live diligently just as I do now and strive to greet you with even better sides of myself."
YUJEONG debuted in 2014 with LABOUM and served as the group's leader. In September 2021, when her seven-year exclusive contract with her agency expired, she decided not to renew and parted ways with the group. At the time, YUJEONG stated, "I am putting a period to my life as the leader of LABOUM and will continue to move forward with new challenges." The remaining members renewed their contracts and continued their activities as a four-member group.
Since leaving the group, YUJEONG has worked as a broadcast host and plans to continue her broadcasting activities even after marriage.
