This year's professional baseball postseason (PS) will kick off with the first game of the Wild Card Series on October 14.
The Wild Card Series, where the fourth and fifth-place teams of the regular league face off, will consist of a maximum of two games.
The fourth-place team advances to the semi-playoffs (best-of-five) if they win or draw either of the two games, while the fifth-place team must win both games of the Wild Card Series to advance.
The Wild Card Series will be held at the home stadium of the fourth-place team.
The semi-playoffs between the winner of the Wild Card Series and the third-place team will begin on October 17, and the playoffs (best-of-five) between the winner of the semi-playoffs and the second-place team will start on October 25.
Game 1 of the Korean Series (best-of-seven) between the playoff winner and regular league champions kt wiz will take place on November 2 at Suwon kt wiz Park.
Postseason extra innings can last up to 15 innings, and if a winner cannot be decided, it ends in a draw.
This year's postseason will not apply no-game or rain-called game rules, adopting only the suspended game rule.
Under the suspended game rule, if a game is halted due to rain or other reasons, it will resume the next day from the exact point of suspension, and only one game will be played per day.
Previously scheduled games will be postponed to the following day.
Video reviews can be requested up to twice per team based on regular innings, and if both reviews are overturned, an additional review opportunity is granted.
Upon entering extra innings, each team is given one more review opportunity.
Following the format changed last year, the Korean Series will host Games 1-2 and 6-7 at the home stadium of the regular league's top-ranked team, and Games 3-5 at the home stadium of the playoff winner.
Teams can register 30 players with 28 active players per game. All four foreign and regional players—comprising three foreign players and one Asian quota player—can be registered and fielded.
If the Korean Series goes to Game 7, this year's fall baseball season will conclude on November 10.
