▲ Police conduct an on-site investigation at a house in Naju, South Jeolla Province, on the morning of October 7. The previous day, a couple in their 60s was found dead with their limbs bound inside the house, prompting a police investigation.
The suspect in the murder of a couple in Naju, South Jeolla Province, appears to have made a calculated escape, alternately using a bicycle and the victims' vehicle.
According to authorities, the suspect in the murder of the couple in their 60s, who were found dead at a house in Naju today (October 7), arrived at the scene on a personal bicycle prior to the crime.
This movement was captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras near the house, and the suspect is presumed to have loaded the bicycle onto a truck owned by the victims and fled after the crime.
After traveling a certain distance, the suspect reportedly parked the truck in a thicket, switched back to the bicycle from the cargo bed to continue the escape, and eventually abandoned even the bicycle.
This means the suspect did not leave the transportation methods used at the crime scene and switched between different vehicles during the getaway.
At 7:49 PM the previous day, the couple in their 60s was found dead in the house with their feet bound with clothing.
Multiple stab wounds were found on the husband, but the weapon presumed to have been used in the crime has not yet been recovered.
Having completed the on-site forensic investigation, the police are tracking the suspect's escape route based on CCTV footage and other evidence.
The police are working to identify the suspect while focusing their investigative resources on making an arrest.
