"Solo Leveling" has driven anticipation to a fever pitch by rounding out a star-studded cast featuring Han So-hee, Kang Youseok, Sung Jun, Lee Sung-min, and Jung Ji-hoon, alongside Byeon Wooseok.
The Netflix series "Solo Leveling" chronicles the journey of Sung Jin-woo, the weakest "E-rank Hunter," who awakens in the face of a fatal crisis and levels up to become the world's strongest Hunter who can save the world. Originating as a web novel and expanding into a webtoon, anime, and game to earn worldwide acclaim, the blockbuster global IP has ignited immense buzz with the news of its live-action adaptation.
Following Byeon Wooseok in the lead role of Sung Jin-woo, Han So-hee has been cast as Cha Hae-in, Korea's sole female S-rank Hunter. Having proven her commanding action chops in series like "My Name" and "Gyeongseong Creature," Han So-hee is set to achieve perfect synchronization with Cha Hae-in, whose trademark weapon is a longsword.
Kang Youseok takes on the role of Yoo Jin-ho, the second son of Yoojin Group who follows Sung Jin-woo like an older brother, adding a warm and relatable charm. Sung Jun plays Woo Jin-chul, an A-rank Hunter and Chief Inspector of the Hunter Association's Surveillance Division, raising dramatic tension as the first to suspect Sung Jin-woo's reawakening.
A stellar lineup of special appearances further enriches the scale of this epic project. Lee Sung-min joins as Go Gun-hee, Chairman of the Hunter Association, anchoring the story with his commanding presence and charisma. Jung Ji-hoon portrays Baek Yoon-ho, an S-rank Hunter and leader of the White Tiger Guild who possesses the ability to transform into a magical beast, promising to inject intense action into the series.
The creative team behind the camera is just as formidable. Director Han Dong-wook, who won Best Director in television at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards for "The Worst of Evil," has joined as co-director. Reuniting once again with production companies Sanai Pictures and Kakao Entertainment, he is expected to deliver a dynamic blend of pulse-pounding action and nuanced directing.
