[Avengers, assemble.]
Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Endgame" has reclaimed the number one spot at the worldwide box office through a theatrical re-release.
Endgame's cumulative gross reached $2.925 billion, surpassing the previous record-holder "Avatar" by a margin of $2 million.
When it was first released in 2019, Endgame broke Avatar's record—which had held the top spot for a decade—to emerge as the highest-grossing film of all time.
However, the rankings shifted when Avatar was re-released in 2021, and now, five years later, Endgame has reclaimed the throne.
Endgame is currently screening under the title of an encore presentation ahead of the release of "Avengers: Doomsday" this coming winter.
